Why does God need $106 billion a year from Americans?

Based on my belief that church structures are intellectual and emotional torture chambers where reason and logic go to die; I guess the printed materials cost lots of money and it must require a lot of electricity to run all the torture procedures/equipment because reason and logic do not lay down and die easily.
