How to get use to hanging with ghetto people?

Well.. i have been hanging out with my brother recently who i never really met till last year. he's cool but he's really ghetto.. i mean he's smokin' drinkin' has all these dudes coming over partying in this bad neighborhood all of them have guns sell drugs and ****.. how do i get use to this stuff? Don't say not to hang out with him because he's my brother i feel safe and everything.. it's just how do i get use to this stuff?
