If you don't want to syphon with a cheap plastic tube (which is CHEAP and it works great, just don't get water in your mouth), then I think you might be scooping out your water into a bucket like I had to. Are you changing out the whole tank? If not then just take a big couple of cups out and add a couple of cups back. Another thing you could do is get an under gravel filter, then you don't have to change the water. I only have a regular filter and I only have to change my tank about once every year to year and a half.

Me and my boyfriend are together a year and living together in his parents house for a month now. Is it normal for a hangover to last for 2 days?

I am a big lightweight when it comes to drinking. On Thursday night, I had 4.5 beers and three shots consisting of Contreau, raspberry vodka, and lime juice. I got sick that very night, obviously, and threw up quite a bit. However, two days later, I'm still feeling nauseous. Is this normal? I'm getting paranoid that maybe I'm pregnant, but I doubt this is possible. I was feeling perfectly fine until I drank all of that alcohol. I'm using AlkaSeltzer Morning Relief and eating lots of soup and drinking ginger ale. Granted, my nauseua isn't as bad as it was yesterday but the slight queasiness is annoying, especially when I have a 7 pg paper to write. New Betta and so much conflicting information...any help?

So I am new to Betta's (what an awesome fish...love him already!!!) and have been reading both online and in a book that I borrowed from the library about the best way to care for it but there is so much conflicting information. Some say to feed him three times a day, others once a day (small amounts that can be consumed in 3-5 minutes). Some say that I should have a filter in the tank with a very gentle flow, others say that the filter is bad. Also, what about changing the water? Some say every three days, others every week? So far I have had him for a week, Ive been feeding him every night just a small amount and he eats everything. I have him in a two gallon tank but its only filled half way until I work out if I should put the filter in (its adjustable to a very gentle flow) and Ive not changed the water, though I am planning to tomorrow and have a gallon of water in a jug that has been treated and sitting for a day now. Lunges!!! :) Well i have two P.E. cles a day well actually P.E. in the morning and Wieght Trainging for my last cl... We do tons of leg stuff but the best is Lunges because it only works your thighs and it doesn't make you breath hard. Try step lunges for a while then maybe use light weights like 5 pounders or even 2, use those while you lunge.. :)

I'm so upset at my dog! He is a yorkie mix and he did something this mourning so I had him in his crate for a few mins. As soon as he came out he looked right at me and peed right in the rainforest bouncer the battery spot. Ever since then it won't work. I tried switching the batteries and nothing. My hubby told me to let it air out as I cleaned it with a towel after it happened and re-crated the dog. I love that bouncer I can take a shower with it, cook dinner, etc. My baby is 6 1/2 months, if I cannot get it too work should I replace it or just say the heck with it. Does anyone know if I can call fisher price and order a new battery thingy? Or any ideas on how to fix it. Aaaahhhhh!

Unresolved issues, would you tell your parents?

I see a therapist for PTSD. It actually helps to talk about these terrible events. My therapist does EMDR. It mimics REM sleep and I have to think about my past traumas. At first I shook and cried and could barely get through it. but after the 2nd time I was able to imagine myself in control and making the people who have hurt me walking away because even though they weren't physically hurting me anymore, they were still mentally torturing me. Also, at first it was like opening Pandora's box and my flashbacks were bad, but after learning coping techniques, I feel a lot better. I think you really need to open up and confront your past so you can enjoy the rest of your life.

One time I was "shushing" someone and my mad started doing this crackling meow, like when he gets excited about something. So I did it again, and so did he. And again and again. Now I do it all the time just to get him to come to me. He will come from across the apartment if I "SSSSHHHH" loud enough and lay with me. What is wrong with my cat?

I have a long haired Maine Coon named Pooh Bear. Ive had him for 3 years now and hes been a house cat ever since. I do not know his official age because I took him in after sleeping couple nights at my front door. Had no collar, and appeared to be abandoned by previous owner. Anyways for 4 days now he is acting weird. Slow and sluggish, the cat acts as if he is tremendously weak. his reflexes arent as sharp and the cat is sleeping in a corner of a room upstairs at night. During night time the cat would usually perch up at the windows in the living room. Pooh Bear is also throwing up consistently throughout the day. Nothing comes out, nothing like digested food its just clear fluid like water. His food consumption consists of 1 pouch of gravy like substance with meat in the mornings and crunchy meow mix throughout the day. (I just fill up his bowl with meow mix whenever its empty) He is not eating like he used to. What could be wrong. I have 1 other person living at home including myself thats sick with phlegm and strep throat, could be a fever coming from the weather. get all your stuff together like a drain pan, a rag, a wrench to take the drain plug out and a oil filter wrench. jack up your car, slide the pan under the car, take out the drain plug and let it drain, after it stop draining put the plug back in and tighten it. now take off the filter( make sure the rubber seal comes off with the old filter) if you can fill the filter up with oil and put some oil on the gasket of the new filter, run the new filter up on and hand tighten the filter only, after the filter contacts the engine give it another 3/4 turn more, let the car back down, fill it with about 3 or 4 quarts, start your car and let it idle, check for leaks, if no leaks then shut it down, let the oil settle in the pan and check it, fill it up to the full mark. put your old oil in something like a milk jug and take it to auto zone to be recycled, clean out the pan and your good to go.

14 year old guy, trying to build muscle. Help?

Im 14, tall about 6"1 or 2 and about 85 kg or 187 lbs and im trying to build up muscle in General, especially around stomach and chest. i have a gym at school that has weights and most gym equipment. i do rowing 3 times a week for about 2 hours each time. i have seen the fat going down from the rowing but i haven't been gaining muscle in the stomach and chest. i am good at crunches but that's pretty much it i can barley do a push up or chin up, and im alright at doing weights. Can anyone give me an idea what I should do, or even come up with a regimen for me? Thank you.

I sterilized it immediately with some antibacterial dish soap and witch-hazel, then wrapped a band-aid around it and continued about my business. However, because when involved in any sort of activity in which requires the use of the hands, one has the tendency to frequently bend the fingers, so it continued to bleed through the bandage for quite some time. After I finally got around to changing it, I noticed that the area around the wound was slightly off color—a golden-grey. It was then that I began to wonder if this was indeed going to be a much more serious cirstance than I previously anticipated—and upon deep contemplation in which I searched the corners of my memory for the last time I was inoculated for tet, I resolved that the most recent time I had done so was about 8-9 years ago when I was still in middle school. I know that the suggested limit between inoculations is about 10 years, but because I am unsure whether or not my prior umption is correct, due to a hazy memory, the subject is a cause of some concern to me. I was wondering if anyone is familiar with tet and early symptoms who could either validate or content the possibility of my contraction of this rather terrifying ailment. How to get my puppy to "go" outside at work.?

I have a 3 mth old Chihuahua/Dachshund. He pees and (mostly) poops outside at home--I take him out often enough. He comes to work with me daily and he'll pee outside, but poops in other people's offices even though I've just taken him out. He doesn't seem to realize he can poop here outside. At home he likes to go in the rocks bordering my house or in leaves. How can I get him to "go" here at work? Do I need to bring some of his poop from home and put it around the area I want him to go in? We stay outside for a while and then he'll come in and have an accident in someone's office. He used to go on pee pads but he's forgetting to go on those too. Any help?

Fender strat pickups?

Strats do not come in either of those configurations. They come in the standard S-S-S and the Fat Strat which is H-S-S. There is a a Blacktop line that has an H-H configuration but I've owned one of those and just didn't really care for, seemed sorta cheap compared to a regular MIM Fender of the same price. If you really feel you need the tone of a bridge humbucker then get the H-S-S but personally I'd get the standard 3 singles coils. Especially if you get a model with Texas Specials. There are far more S-S-S Strats sold than H-S-S if that says anything.

Can anyone advise on crazy menstral cycle?!?

My cycle has always been like clockwork - every 28 days! It has never been longer than a 4 day cycle. Over the past several months, that has all changed. Now, it will last up to 6-7 days. I recently turned 40yrs old and I started my last cycle on the 23rd of May, it lasted 12days. 9 weeks pregnant .. twinges & cramping NORMAL?

Hi everyone, I'm 9 weeks pregnant! yay! I had an ultrasound at 6 weeks and seen a heartbeat and once again at 8w2d's and the heartbeat was strong & the baby has grown alot already. My big question is since yesterday i've been feeling slight cramps with pulling and soreness and possible twinges in my lower abdomen. I don't know if it's round ligament pain or what? I honestly don't like the majority of people in my town. There are a lot of druggies/alcoholics and shady/untrustworthy people. There really arent any guys and girls I want to see again from highschool. I am at age of where I can go to bars/clubs. I have been to bars and clubs and did not like them at all. My town situation just sucks so bad. I enjoy being alone but it would be nice if I had some good friends that weren't all about drugs/alcohol(burnouts). I am going to a university soon and only want to party there(drinking in moderation) because I feel most of the people there will not be a bunch of random losers. I am not trying to sound like a prick but I use to hangout with the wrong crowd until I realized they were pathetic excuses for people. I am positive and want to be successful. I have avoided all the bullshit for a good amount of time now. It just sucks because I want to never come back to my town again. My family is even messed up. When I transfer to my university, I am prolly going to just stay there even in the summer. I have nothing in my town it feels like. Anyone have any advice or stories like mine? I feel alone and it sucks because I use to always be around people but they were the WRONG people especially since I would probably have to fist fight some people in my past if I ever saw them again. I am well trained in fighting though so I am not afraid of my enemies it is just that I am scared of the CONSEQUENCES of fighting. Frostbitten feet?!?! Please help!!!!?

It was snowing terribly today, which resulted in many lovely deep snow drifts and slush puddles. Unfortunately, my boots were useless as they were not waterproof. Within minutes of leaving my apartment, my feet were soaked to the bone, and since I didn't have any change in footwear, I had to spend the entire day at work with my feet submerged in freezing ice water. Then I had to trudge through the snow and slush all over again in order to get home. When I got home, my feet felt horrible. I took off my drenched boots and socks and my feet are all purple and swollen. Is this frostbite? If it is, what should I do? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Ticket for Running Flashing Red Light - Effect on Insurance?

So a week or so ago I was driving and I came across a newly built traffic light on a street with minimal traffic. I didn't have my own car yet so I was driving my dad's. I admittedly wasn't certain about the rule for flashing red lights and thought that it meant yield, so I slowed down, but not to a complete stop, to check if any cars were around me and seeing that there weren't any I went ahead. But there was a cop hiding on the street perpendicular to mine and I ended up getting my first ever ticket for $100. The police officer told me that a flashing red light was the equivalent of a stop sign, and from some articles that I've read, running a stop sign doesn't increase insurance much. I also have an option of doubling the fine to $200 and wiping the ticket off of my record since it's my first violation. Anyways I'm just wondering if it would be better to just pay the $100 and live with the ticket for 3 years, pay $200 and get the ticket off of my record, or try and fight it in court. Would insurance usually increase for first tickets like this and if it does would it exceed $100? I'm 17, live in Kansas and have already taken Drivers Ed if that helps.

Two months ago we signed an 18 month lease agreement with our landlord for our business. Prior to signing the lease we were in negotiation and the landlord expressed that he was thinking of selling the building, at that time I told him that I would not sign a lease with someone that I did not know, he did not want to tell me who was interested. Approximately one month later he then said that he was not going to sell he was going to add on and that the bank required a lease with all of his tennants. So we signed an 18 month lease, about 1-2 weeks later he sold the building. Is the lease that we signed with the former owner transferable to the new one, or since I expressed that I did not want to sign with someone that I did not know is the lease void? There has been nothing in writing besides the old owner giving me a recipie card with the new owners address. The lease that we did sign has noting in it about being transferable. The reason people say not to handle turtles is because they often carry salmonella. As long as you don't do anything stupid (like play with your turtles and then suck your thumb), you should be OK, and of course you can always wash your hands afterwards to make sure you're safe. A lot of aquatic turtles will become quite tame if they're handled a lot. I don't see any reason to feed them in a separate tank. Just make sure you have a good filter and let the filter take care of the mess.

Dealing with stepmothers?

I have an exhusband, and we have a 5 and 7 yr old. I am remarried and have a 4 mo baby. My ex has a new wife (no kids). I want all of us to be as friendly as possible for the 5 & 7 yr olds sake. I am talkative and try to make conversation with the stepmom. I try to talk about the kids and intitiate conversations so that we can all be a TEAM parent for our kids. I want us to raise them the same so that they have consistency between households. Well, the stepmom pretty much ignores me, refuses to meet, barely says "hi" or "bye"...no eye contact and just keeps talking to a minimal. It is SOO uncomfortable!?!? My ex says that I am reading in to it too much and that the stepwife has no hard feelings. I can clearly feel the tension in the air. But plain & simple: I want to get to know whoever is around my kids or influencing my kids. My husband and my EX get along just fine and there is no uncomfortableness between them. Just her & I.
