My guitar sounds normal on the first five frets...and flat on the higher notes...whats wrong?

my guitar is on standard tuning, and the first three strings G, B, E, are acting bogus. they sound fine on the lower notes, and flat on the higher notes. also, when i tune with harmonics they sound off when i refer to tuning using the relative fret on the lower string. whats wrong with my guitar!?
